... in the Summer of 2002 a friend gave me a copy of Gina Garan's book "This Is Blythe" ... one look at her dolls and I was hooked, so in September I bought my very first Blythe: a "All Gold in One" and I named her BLEETHEUX.

My second doll was a "Bohemian Beats" and I named her HORTENSIA, an old-fashioned latin name which I just love, and up to now she is probably still my favorite girl!

Over the years I bought more dolls and I now have 14 Blythes: each one has been named, they have very defined personalities and they have traveled with me quite extensively, in their very stylish personalised wardrobes.
For quite sometime I have not paid much attention to my dolls, but now I'm again very attracted to them, so I've decided that I will post a different picture of one girl every day.

Saturday night at Bowling Loreto

DOMITILLA, is my fourteenth (and at the moment my last) Blythe, she's a Limited Edition for Toys-R-Us "Cloud Nine Bowl". She was a gift, again from my sister, for Christmas 2007.
Here she's wearing her original outfit for a fun night-out at Bowling Loreto, in Milan.

I love this doll, she has the most beautiful skin color of all my girls, perfect pink cheeks and lips, and teal eye-shadow. Plus, she has very special eye colors: sparkly light blue, apple green, light brown (very pretty!) and the standard pink, which actually I think goes quite well with her orange hair. Also, I like very much her original outfit (normally I'm not a big fan and I always undress my girls right away when I take them out of the box), but this set is so detailed and cute that I usually keep DOMITILLA in her pink dress. This means that poor Domitilla is the only one who doesn't have her own personalized wardrobe ... yet... :(

Flying the friendly sky

This is ALYCJE, my thirteenth Blythe, she's a "Feel the Sky" I got in late 2007, here wearing a uniform from "Sugar Mag".

She's an almost-too-blond flight attendant, and of course Donna Jensen played by Gwyneth Paltrow in "View from the Top" is ALYCJE's role model!

I have a feeling that with ALYCJE there is more than meets the eye: is she really just a pretty flight attendant? Is there more than just make-up in her cute pink trolley? Could she be carrying secret papers in her "bagage"?
Her job takes her everywhere, and she seems to know a lot of important people... well, hopefully we will get to know more about her in the future!

Violette, "La Petite Peste"

Voilà VIOLETTE, my first edition "Hollywood", that I was lucky to get at a decent price from e-Bay in the summer of 2005.

She's an eleven years old girl with a tiny Licca body and a BIG attitude.
She's very cute, she knows it, and she's always getting in some kind of trouble!
Still a student, she has to wear a school uniform every day which, of course, she hates because all she really wants to do is to run off to the Mall to meet her girlfriends and go shopping for mini-mini skirts, tight jeans, and lots of pretty hairpins.
She's very good at figure skating, but she also like to play soccer with the boys at park: she can be very "girly~girly" but also an unstoppable tomboy.

She just got her first mobile phone... so I guess that now more troubles are on the way ;)

Beach Babe Forever

COLETTE was my eleventh girls, she's a "Cinnamon Girl" and a gift from my sister for Christmas 2006!

Because of her tanned skin and her long sun~kissed hair she reminded me so much about a girlfriend of mine (named Colette) who was an avid wake-boarder and snow-border, so I always imagined that this Blythe was a mini version of my friend.
Sadly the girlfriend passed away recently, and now more than ever I like to imagine that my COLETTE will go on being a surfergirl, living a happy and carefree life in Hawaii, honoring a wonderful woman who tragically is no-longer with us.

COLETTE loves sushi, lime sodas, coconut oil for her skin and hair, and she mostly wears swimsuits and other beach outfits.

Daisies & Denim

This is CECILE - girl number ten - a "French Trench" that I bought in the summer of 2004 from a Japanese toys' shop in the East Village in New York City, so I decided that she's a French exchange student. She's trained as a Chef in France, and now she's making very cute cup-cakes for a pastry shop in NY, but she's planning to go back to Paris to learn more cooking secrets from the Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute!

While leaving in New York her style is a mix of cute & casual, here she's wearing an outfit from "Sugar Mag" and brown loafer shoes, very preppy...

Do Blondes have more fun? I think so!

NATACHA, my ninth Blythe is a "I Love You It's True" that I got from e-Bay in the summer of 2004; her hair is so beautiful, very long & blond, and much, much softer compared to other girls.
The fact that I bought her on-line made me think about those "mail-order" brides and so I decided that she's a Russian woman, with a bit of a shady past working in nightclubs!
Of course, she is redeemed now (...or so I think...) and all she does is thinking about shopping for new clothes, shoes, and bags while drinking ice-cold vodka...

Here she's very proud of her luscious blond hair, styled by "Ricci Salon"

Miss "Perfection"

This is MAUVE, my girl number eight: she's a Korean Limited Edition "Velvet Minuet" that I bought in January 2004. Compared to my previous girls she has very pale skin (which she's very proud of, and never~ever suntan) and, instead of the spooky orange eyes, she's got these lovely apple-green eyes.
She's a fashion model, she loves the 1950', her style-icon is Audrey Hepburn; here she's wearing one of her favorite dresses from "Par Avion", and her hair is perfectly coiffed after a brushing at "Ricci Salon".

She's also my first girl with nail polish!

Shampoo & Conditioning

The girls and I are getting ready to leave the peaceful countryside, we need to get ready to return to Milan, and I decided that it's just the right time for shampoo and a good hair treatment, so here we have - from left to right - NATACHA, COLETTE, AURORA DAWN, MAUVE and JEANNE drying their hair ;)

Bath time

DAWN and her friend Posie getting ready for shampoo

On the right, wearing pink, is my DAWN: she's a "Pow Wow Poncho" and she was given to me in December 2002 by a girlfriend called Aurora, so this Blythe was named AURORA DAWN. I love, love, love her gorgeous long red hair, her pink lips and rosy cheeks.

Of all my girls this is the "hippy" one: she is totally stuck in the'70 and she only wears vintage clothes (either stolen from my old Skipper, or from the Disco Girls-World of Love collections). I don't think she has a job... she just seems to spend all her time smoking funny things!

I'm a bit spooky!

This is DILETTA, my sixth Blythe - a "Love Mission" who came to me in November 2003 - here wearing a vintage beach outfit from the "Disco Girl" collection.

She's fifteen, very quiet and secretive, frankly she's the weird one of the bunch: not surprising her role models are Wednesday Addams (like Wednesday she likes to paint and has a quirky sense of humor)

and Emily The Srange, and like Emily my DILETTA loves cats, wears lots of black and red, and also plays the guitar. She's now talking about having a tattoo....a spider tattoo... what else?!?

Life trough pink eyes

MINDY was my fifth girl, a "Disco Boogie" I got in Hong Kong in February 2003.
She's American, very, very American.... she used to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, and now she's a Hip~Hop dancer, working with P.Diddy (!) as a video choreographer.

She's full of energy, always on the move (that's why she wears very sporty clothes most of the times), and she's always talking about her hair and how she needs more highlights...
Frankly, the other girls think that she's a bit annoying, but she's so self~centered that she doesn't even notice!

Nordic Beauty

This is AGNETHA, my fourth doll, she's a first edition "Skate Date" and she came to me in December 2002.

70's Groove

JEANNE wearing one of her favorite outfits: "Pop Pinny", an original set from the World of Love / Disco Girls collection.

JEANNE - a beautiful "Rouge Noir" - was a Christmas gift in 2002, and I always loved her bright red hair. She has such strong looks and she is very photogenic.
Of all my dolls she is the most adult, very cool and independent, she doesn't seems to care much for the other girls, and she certainly would not share her clothes!

Developing a taste for beer

I like SINGHA beer...

... zzz zzz ... too much SINGHA beer ... zzz ... zzz ...

HORTENSIA - a first release "Bohemian Beats" - was my second doll. I bought her in September 2002, we immediately bonded and I started taking her everywhere I went.
She is very well travelled: here she was in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the beach

My very first Blythe doll - a "All Gold In One" named BLEETHEUX - in her very fist photo shoot in South Bay Beach in Hong Kong, September 2002.

Although I have a soft spot for her because she was my first one, and I always thought that she was a cute teen~girl, in all honesty I never liked her corse hair which is impossible to style, and I hated her tacky make-up ... I mean, really ... who would wear saffron yellow eye-shadow and bright fushia lipstick?!?
