... in the Summer of 2002 a friend gave me a copy of Gina Garan's book "This Is Blythe" ... one look at her dolls and I was hooked, so in September I bought my very first Blythe: a "All Gold in One" and I named her BLEETHEUX.

My second doll was a "Bohemian Beats" and I named her HORTENSIA, an old-fashioned latin name which I just love, and up to now she is probably still my favorite girl!

Over the years I bought more dolls and I now have 14 Blythes: each one has been named, they have very defined personalities and they have traveled with me quite extensively, in their very stylish personalised wardrobes.
For quite sometime I have not paid much attention to my dolls, but now I'm again very attracted to them, so I've decided that I will post a different picture of one girl every day.

Violette goes out in the evening

Violette was so excited... she went out - on a school night - to our friend birthday celebration! Here she is with the "B.DAY" girl

No alcohol for her (she's too young) strictly Coca~Cola, and she was home before midnight!

Cool Girl

HORTENSIA chilling on the balcony at the hotel in Saint-Malo in the Summer of 2003.
Isn't she the prettiest? I know, I know, she has an attitude but... I still love her!

"Oranginal"

I know I said that I did not like BLEETHEUX original make-up: too orange, too tacky, too spooky, in fact I later cleaned her with solvent (and I made a mess :( ...poor girl!)
but in this picture she reminds me of the Orangina drink.

this is going to be Bleetheux's week!

As I mentioned in the very first post, BLEETHEAUX was my first Blythe doll: back in the Fall of 2002 she was very much "the girl about town", so I've decided that this week she's going to be the star in all posts.

In this photo she's enjoying a junk boat trip, the best way to spend a Sunday in Hong Kong.
Ohh, how do we miss that...

Tiny Dress Patterns

Today no photos of my girls, but a question: should I get this sewing pattern?
It looks cute, but I'm not sure my girls will like any of these styles (plus, I'm not sure I will ever have the time to actually sew the tiny clothes...)

a "beauty" at the swimming pool

HORTENSIA, posing graciously at the swimming pool of the Sukhothai Hotel in Bangkok.
The photo was taken 8 years ago, but it is still one of my favorite ever: I think she looks just perfect (and I bet she knows just how pretty she is!)

... sleepwalking in Paris... can be a bit spooky!

CECILE couldn't sleep and she went out for a walk - in her pajamas! - around Hotel de Ville, Pont Louis Philippe and Notre Dame

J'adore les bijoux

Looove Hermès!

CECILE wants to borrow my bag to go out, she says that it goes well with what she's wearing, and with her boots. What can I say?!? .... she has expensive tastes...

Copper Cookware is the best

Like all the best chefs CECILE knows that copper is the most desirable material for cooking.
Here she's heading to the Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute with the new utensils we found at "Miniatures World", a cute little shops full of the most delightful dollhouse miniatures.

De retour du marché

CECILE went to lively Rue Montorgueil and bought some yummy french specialities!

Vintage shopping

CECILE found pretty vintage ribbons, and hat-making accessories at "Mercerie Utramod", which has been in business since 1890... WOW!

This place is just amazing: buttons galore, embroidery materials, lace, pins and even old rolls of fabrics. "Ultramode" has two shops, at no. 3 and no. 4 Rue de Choiseul, 75002 Paris - tel. +33.1.42.60.45.57, closed Saturday and Sunday (unfortunately they don't have website)

Saturday night at Bowling Loreto

DOMITILLA, is my fourteenth (and at the moment my last) Blythe, she's a Limited Edition for Toys-R-Us "Cloud Nine Bowl". She was a gift, again from my sister, for Christmas 2007.
Here she's wearing her original outfit for a fun night-out at Bowling Loreto, in Milan.

I love this doll, she has the most beautiful skin color of all my girls, perfect pink cheeks and lips, and teal eye-shadow. Plus, she has very special eye colors: sparkly light blue, apple green, light brown (very pretty!) and the standard pink, which actually I think goes quite well with her orange hair. Also, I like very much her original outfit (normally I'm not a big fan and I always undress my girls right away when I take them out of the box), but this set is so detailed and cute that I usually keep DOMITILLA in her pink dress. This means that poor Domitilla is the only one who doesn't have her own personalized wardrobe ... yet... :(

Flying the friendly sky

This is ALYCJE, my thirteenth Blythe, she's a "Feel the Sky" I got in late 2007, here wearing a uniform from "Sugar Mag".

She's an almost-too-blond flight attendant, and of course Donna Jensen played by Gwyneth Paltrow in "View from the Top" is ALYCJE's role model!

I have a feeling that with ALYCJE there is more than meets the eye: is she really just a pretty flight attendant? Is there more than just make-up in her cute pink trolley? Could she be carrying secret papers in her "bagage"?
Her job takes her everywhere, and she seems to know a lot of important people... well, hopefully we will get to know more about her in the future!
